Casey expected to miss approximately eight months after suffering injury during match vs. Seattle
COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (Tuesday, July 19, 2011) – Colorado Rapids forward Conor Casey will miss the remainder of the 2011 season after suffering a torn left Achilles tendon during the Rapids match on Saturday at Seattle Sounders FC. Casey, who leads the Rapids with six goals this season, will undergo surgery on Wednesday and is expected to be out approximately eight months while recovering.
Casey was injured in the 38th minute of Saturday’s match at Seattle Sounders FC, and an MRI taken on Monday afternoon revealed the extent of the injury. Surgery on Casey’s left Achilles tendon has been scheduled for Wednesday at Advanced Orthopedics in Denver under the supervision of Rapids Team Doctor Wayne Gersoff MD.
