Commerce City Celebrates Earth Day at the Colorado Rapids Game

Community night HIGHLIGHTS GREENER GOALS, free recycling event

COMMERCE CITY – Celebrate Earth Day on April 22 with Commerce City at the next home game for the Colorado Rapids. The city has partnered with the Rapids and Commerce City Citizens for Recycling to host a free electronics and aluminum recycling event outside the stadium prior to the game.

“Commerce City has taken significant steps to become a more sustainable city in the last few years,” said City Manager Jerry Flannery. “We’ve completed energy efficiency upgrades in municipal buildings, provided curbside recycling at no additional charge, and are creating a sustainable community plan. We are also home to many green businesses – including the Colorado Rapids.”

“This is a great opportunity for the community to come out and support the hometown team,” added Flannery. “We look forward to educating residents on how they too can achieve Greener Goals with simple, low-cost activities.”
