Mile High Sports Magazine has named the Colorado Rapids as the SportsPersons of the Year as revealed in the January 2011 Mile High Sports Awards edition of the publication. The Rapids were recognized for winning the 2010 MLS Cup and bringing a championship back to Colorado.Exceprt from the six-page feature on the Rapids: In a year when the Rockies fell flat, the Broncos reached their lowest ebb in age and the Nuggets' superstar kept his bags packed for his long-expected move out of town, soccer reigned supreme.

Additionally, forward Conor Casey was a finalist for Pro Athlete of the Year and head coach Gary Smith was a finalist for Coach of the Year.
